Kate Lewis - Independent Jewellery Designer and Maker
Kate studied Jewellery Design in London before moving to the beautiful Gower Peninsular where she has been creating sea inspired jewellery for over 20 years. Her studio is located within minutes of the beach and the things she sees and finds in this seascape influence her work. She is particularly interested in the way, light transforms the shoreline, and the waves and wind shape the objects strewn along it.
Kate works in gold and silver and her designs have a natural quality combining organic shapes with matt finishes and many pieces demonstrate her interest in movement within jewellery.

Stunning designs incorporating precious and semi-precious gemstones into pieces that reflect the shapes, colours and textures of the seashore, and the play of light on the ocean.
Seaglass
Sea glass from local beaches is incorporated into many of Kate’s designs. These frosted jewels demonstrate nature’s ability to shape and transform the things we discard and forget, into something of beauty. Shards of glass are tossed and tumbled by the action of the waves on the sand and take on a smooth frosted appearance producing sea glass.
